1. What Gems Guild is

Gems Guild is a listing platform. It brings together independent Sri Lankan gem dealers and the buyers who want to reach them.

We are not the seller. We do not own the gemstones listed here, we do not hold them, and we are not a party to any sale. Each gem belongs to the independent dealer who listed it.

2. Your purchase is with the seller

When you contact a seller — normally on WhatsApp — you are dealing directly with that dealer. Price, payment method, shipping, insurance, returns and any refund are agreed between the two of you.

Gems Guild does not process payments, hold funds in escrow, or guarantee that any transaction will complete. Please agree terms clearly with the seller before sending money.

3. Listing information comes from sellers

Weight, dimensions, colour, clarity, treatment, origin, certification and price are supplied by the seller, not verified by us on a stone-by-stone basis.

Photographs and videos are provided by the seller. Colour can vary between screens and under different lighting, and gemstone photography in particular rarely matches the stone in the hand exactly.

4. What we require of every seller

Before listing, every seller agrees to our Seller Terms: natural gemstones only, every treatment disclosed, listings described accurately, and genuine certification where certification is claimed. Synthetic, lab-created and simulant stones are prohibited on this platform.

If you believe a stone has been misrepresented — a synthetic sold as natural, an undisclosed treatment, or a false certificate — please tell us. We can remove listings and suspend sellers, and we would rather hear about it than not.

5. Buying with confidence

For a significant purchase we encourage you to ask the seller for the laboratory certificate, request additional photographs or video, and where practical have the stone verified by an independent gemmological laboratory.

Ask about treatment explicitly. A stone described as unheated or untreated should be supported by documentation.

6. Prices

Prices are displayed in Sri Lankan Rupees (LKR). Any figure shown in another currency is an approximate conversion for guidance only and is not the price you will pay.

Prices do not include shipping, insurance, import duty or taxes in your country unless the seller states otherwise. Import obligations are the buyer's responsibility.

7. Using this site

Please do not attempt to disrupt the platform, scrape it at scale, misuse the contact channels, or copy sellers' photographs and listing text for use elsewhere. Listing images and descriptions belong to the sellers who created them.

8. Availability and liability

The platform is provided as-is. We aim to keep it available and accurate but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service, and a gem shown as available may already be under discussion with another buyer.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Gems Guild is not liable for loss arising from a transaction between you and a seller, or from reliance on information supplied by a seller.

9. Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka.
